As reported by United Press International (UPI), children experience significant benefits to brain development when engaged with musical experiences such as toddler music classes and formal music lessons.

A study at McGill University finds strong evidence that ages 6-8 are a "sensitive period when musical training interacts with normal brain development to produce long-lasting changes in motor abilities and brain structure".
